RESCUING SUNNY

After many condition calls to a property in Henry County for dogs being chained outside without shelter, Sunny, formerly known as Bernita, was seized in a drug raid. The police discovered a meth lab and arrested everyone on the property. Sunny gave birth to 3 pups in the pound, but sadly 2 did not survive. We were able to rescue Sunny and her remaining pup. X-rays show that Sunny has been shot and there is a field tip from an arrow as well as a pellet in her abdomen. She had a previously broken front leg that has healed and she is heartworm positive. Sunny has had multiple litters and she was loaded with whipworms, fleas, and ticks.

ABOUT SUNNY

Sunny is a well-mannered, even-tempered, sweet, and obedient girl. After a long life of neglect, abuse, and overbreeding, she is ready for a home where she gets human affection and proper care. Sunny is housebroken and crate-trained. She comes when called, walks nicely on a leash, and knows basic obedience commands. In her previous life, she must have been involved in an accident where she broke her front right leg that was never cared for; therefore she has a slight limp in her gate, but it does not stop her from getting around! She would be a great addition to a family who will be first-time dog owners, a retired couple who would enjoy having a lower-energy and low-maintenance dog, or a family with younger children to invite Sunny to their tea party.

Our adoption fee is $250. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.
