Jax the Dog needs a home
Jax is a great looking young man who came to us with a bit of baggage. While we don't know all the details, he sometimes becomes startled or frightened, and he tends to become agitated. Once he knows you he will jump up and want to be next to you, but it's best to be calm. He picks up on that and then he settles down into quite the cuddle puppy. Jax doesn't feel comfortable around big dogs and in typical Dachshund fashion he barks at them.
Because he's a bit of a work in progress, Jax doesn't need to go to a home with an inexperienced owner or young children. He has a hard time with change, and he tends to become very vocal and difficult to redirect once he gets agitated. He is not a mean dog, but he definitely has some psychological needs that require a firm but patient owner, a predictable environment, and a routine that helps Jax become comfortable.
