If you have always dreamed of adopting pit bull, but need a smaller sized dog, a POCKET PITTIE is for you!! Meet pocket pittie, Nathan. Nathan looks and acts so much like a puppy, when he was pulled from the shelter, we though he was a puppy. Surprise!! At Nathan’s first visit to our vet, his age was estimated to be around 3 years old. This “little” guy has tons of spunk and LOTS of energy! Nathan has a small stature. He is a small, manageable 40 lbs. and will not get any bigger.
Nathan loves to play and when he gets excited he does the cutest little tap dance with his front paws. He’s a sweet boy who loves affection. He l.o.v.e.s. to lay in you lap ??. He’s also very content just laying in his crate chilling and chewing on a bone. Nathan does need basic training, which his foster mom has started working on with him. When he is adopted he will need continued training. Initially, Nathan didn’t know what either a collar or leash were but he is making progress with his leash manners by leaps and bounds. He is very smart and very treat motivated which makes training a breeze.
Nathan has met several dogs in his foster home and has done good with all of them. Nathan can, at times, play rough with the other dog so he needs to be with other dogs who will tolerate this.
Nathan is great in his crate. Sometimes, he can be vocal, not barking, and only if crated while other pets are out and in his view and he can’t join them. He is easily, verbally, corrected and quiets right down. His name could be “Wookiee” (like the Star Wars character) because he makes soft little Wookiee noises in the crate
