Availability of Cosequin:

What is Cosequin used for:
Pet Meds Cosequin - Cosequin is a nutritional supplement to help dogs and cats maintain healthy joints. Cosequin, Cosequin DS and Cosequin for Cats are exclusive formulas to support and maintain the health of the dog’s and cat’s joints.
How Cosequin should be used:
For dogs and cats less than 10 lbs the usual starting dose of Cosequin for the first 4 to 6 weeks is ½ to 1 capsule once a day. For dogs and cats 10-24 lbs give 2 capsules daily (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening). For Cosequin DS the usual starting dose for the first 4 to 6 weeks for dogs 10-24 lbs is 1 capsule daily, for dogs 25-49 lbs is 1 capsule twice a day and for dogs 50-100 lbs give 2 capsuels twice a day. The usual starting dose for Cosequin for Cats for the first 4 to 6 weeks for cats under 10 lbs is the contents of 1 capsule once a day and for cats over 10 lbs the contents of 2 capsules once a day. After 4 to 6 weeks the dose can be reduced gradually until maintenance dose of ½ the initial dose is reached.
What are the side effects of Cosequin:
Side effects are rare but may result in diarrhea.
What special precautions are there for Cosequin:
This product is not intended to be used in place of other treatments in the presence of an infection or if surgery is needed.
In the event of overdose:
Overdose is not likely but may result in diarrhea.
How should I store Cosequin:
Store the original container in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight. Keep lid tightly closed. Keep out of the reach of children.
