The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Simple Tips To Potty Train Your New Puppy

Potty training also known as house training/breaking is the art of teaching your puppy or new dog where you would like him to relieve himself when the time comes. Sound simple! Well not exactly, at least to me and many dog owners out there. Potty training a puppy gives me the most problems and headache, perhaps more than any other dog related tasks.

It seems that just about all puppies are always either in the wrong place at the right time, or the right place at the wrong time! Nevertheless, over the years, after many experiments and a great deal of reading up, I’ve managed to come out with 6 simple tips to help potty train any dog which I will share with you below.

1. Always try to feed your puppy on a regular schedule and remove his water bowl just before bed time. This will help his potty timing be more predictable and consistent.

2. Puppies normally want to relieve themselves soon after feeding, sleeping, playing and confinement. Always bring him to your designated area for his potty business after such activities.

3. Do not let your dog wander off without proper supervision, potty training aside, it is dangerous for a young puppy to wander around by itself. Confine him to an area where you can monitor him to prevent accidents and reward desired behaviors with treats and or praise.

4. When you see your puppy sniffing and running around in circles this is his clue to you that it is time, bring him to your designated spot immediately.

5. Give your dog a command to help associate the potty action with. For example, “Do it now” or “Go Potty”.

6. When he is doing his potty business you should always praise and reward. Praise and reward again after he is finished.

Following these simple and effective tips should help you considerably in potty training your puppy.
