The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Pet Tips

Training Your Dog To Lay Down

Teaching your dog to obey simple commands is an important part of owning a pet . When your dog is properly trained, it makes it much easier to communicate with him and this will enhance your relationship. In addition to making your dog mind you, it may even save your pet from harm or danger some day.

Dogs want your praise more than anything, so using positive reinforcement when training your dog or puppy is the always the best approach. Hitting or yelling rarely works, and should never be done, besides who wants to hit or yell at their dog?

The “down” or “lay down” command is one of the most basic commands and should be one of the first things you teach your dog once he learns the sit on command anyways. It is very easy to train a dog to obey commands and once you have done one command, it gets even easier as the process is almost exactly the same for each. Here’s are some example steps you can use to teach your dog to lay down on command:
1. Get the dog to sit (you should have completely trained him in this command)
2. Firmly speak the “down” command while gently pushing his legs out in front (this will cause him to lay down).
3. Always give your dog praise when he follows the command. Show him you are very happy with your voice and body language(a treat will not hurt either).
4. At first your dog will get right back up, but as time goes you will be able to lengthen the time the dog stays in the down position by waiting to give him praise or treats.
5. You should repeat this three to five times at each session. Repetition is important but you don’t want to do too much at one time. If you feel like you really need to drill it in, you can have several sessions spaced throughout the day .

There are more rewards than meet the eye with training your dog. For one your dog gets used to hearing his name. He will also become familiar with doing things on your command. All in all, training strengthens your positions – you as leader and helps the dog feel secure. Try to spend a couple of minutes each day training your dog. This will help cement your relationship.
