The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Everything You Need To Know About a Cat Show

Have you ever considered taking your cat to a cat show? Or maybe you are just interested in being a spectator in such a show and want to understand more about what is happening there. Here are some questions you might have on the topic.

1. What is a cat show?

The term refers to a judged event where cat owners enter a fair-play competition in order to win titles by showing the best of their breed, according to some previously established standards. Cats are compared to these standards and the winner will be the cat that is the closest to them. The more titles you win, the more points you acquire, so, at the end of the year, there will be national and regional titles to be awarded according to these points.

Rules usually differ from one organization to another.

Your pet does not necessarily have to be a pedigree cat in order to enter the competition. The owner just needs to sign in for the right category and prepare the cat to be the best of its breed. There are two kinds of shows, called rings:

* The "All Breed" ring is for every certified breed
* "Specialty" rings are different shows for each breed.

It is very important to know that this kind of shows do not alter the well-being of the animals in any way.

2. How to sign up for the cat show?

If you want your cat to be part of such a show and maybe win a title, you might want to know what judges are looking for when deciding which cat is going to be awarded. There are three important things to be taken into account:
The overall condition of your cat. It is very important to have a healthy cat.
* The personality of your cat. It should be a combination of strong personality and efficient training.
* The physical appearance of your cat. If your cat looks healthy and very well taken care of, then you will be most likely to win a title.

3. What other things do you need to know about a cat show?

You also have to get informed about:

* how to complete an entry form
* how to transport your cat to a show in good conditions
* responsibilities that the exhibitors have
* show rules
* information to be provided about the cat you want to register in the show
* information about schedule of upcoming shows
* information about breed standards
* information about cages used in the shows (types and size)
* how to score points
* training and grooming for the show
* what a Show Catalog is
* what you can find in a Judges’ Book

You can easily find online beginner’s guides for more information or specialized websites with answers to most frequently asked questions about cat shows.

A cat show is a good opportunity for your cat to become famous and to be appreciated for their personality, style and looks and will also bring great satisfaction to the owner.
