History: The
Eurasian is a modern breed created in 1960 by crossing the chow chow, wolfspitz, and Samoyed. It was bred as a guard
dog.
Physical Description: The
Eurasian is a medium-size, well balanced
dog that is longer than it is tall. It has a wedge-shaped head, tapering muzzle, and strong jaw. The dark eyes are slightly slanted and it has medium size triangular prick ears that are rounder at the tips. The thick, bushy tail is carried over the back. There is a double coat, with a thick undercoat and medium length, loose guard hair. The hair is short on the muzzle, face, ears, and fronts of legs bur feathered on the backs of legs. It can be any color except white or liver.

Weight: 40 to 70 pounds
Temperament: The
Eurasian is a calm, self confident
dog. It is loyal and devoted to its family but wary with strangers. It makes an excellent watchdog as it is watchful and aler. It does not like to be left alone.

Best Owner: The
Eurasian requires a
dog experienced, firm owner in a suburban or rural environment.
Special Needs: Can’t be left alone for long periods, daily exercise, firm training, grooming, socialization
