The NO-NO Not Ever human foods list for animals.
While most human foods are safe for Fido and FeFe in moderation or on occasion, there is a list of foods that should never be given to your dog or pet. This is not a full list so if you’re not sure ask your vet or hit the internet and do some research.

Grapes and raisins- They can cause acute renal failure and death if eaten. 1/4th of a cup can kill a large dog!
Onions, Onion Powder or chives- No matter what form, raw, cooked, or powdered or even foods cooked with onions are extremely harmful to your pooch! They contain disulfides and sulfoxides (thisulphate) both of which can cause anemia and damage red blood cells. So be careful of the table scraps you feed Rover make sure onions are not in anything tossed his way.
Chocolate- All forms especially dark and unsweetened
Alcoholic beverages- as little as 1 oz of 20-40 proof alcohol can put your dog into a coma so don't share your brew!
Yeast dough- it expands in the stomach and causes bloating and is very painful for an animal
Tea, Coffee or Caffeine- All components are harmful to your pet not just the brewed liquid.
Avocados- Toxic! And not just to dogs but birds, mice, rabbits, horses, cattle and dairy goats.
Macadamia Nuts
Hops
Cigarettes and cigars
Mushrooms- can contain toxins which may affect multiple systems in the dog’s body causing shock and result in death.
Rhubarb and tomato leaves- Contain oxalates which can adversely affect the digestive, nervous and urinary systems.
Corn Cobs- Can cause blockages in the intestines.
Fat Trimmings- Can cause pancreatitis.
Salt- Can cause electrolyte imbalances, dehydration and potentially diahrrea.
Sugar- all forms and including corn syrup, can cause dental issues, obesity and diabetes

So if you’re looking to change up Roover's diet by incorporating safe human foods or before you toss some scraps his way, talk to your vet and find out what his exact dietary needs are and do some research. Remember we want to enrich their lives as much as they enrich ours.
