The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Morgan Hill Dog Owners Group, aka MHDOG, is a non-profit organization created by a group of Morgan Hill citizens to spearhead a grass roots campaign to bring an off leash dog park to our commuity. Our non-profit status is made possible by our being an Alliance Member of the Morgan Hill Community Foundatioin.

Mission Statement: The Purpose of Morgan Hill Dog Owner's Group is to serve as friends of the Morgan Hill Dog Park and help the City to keep it as a community asset where people and their dogs can play together in a safe and friendly environment. Dogs contribute immeasurably to their families quality of life- helping to foster a sense of togetherness for everyone and creating a positive community spirit.

Some history about Morgan Hill Dog Owners Group and the Dog Park

Morgan Hill has an ordinance which prohibits dogs from being off leash any place in the City. With the tremendous residential growth in Morgan Hill over the past few years the need for an off leash dog park became evident. While MHDOG was searching for a suitable site for the proposed dog park, we were very pleased to have the City offer a section in the southern end of the already existing Community Park on Edmundson Ave. However, the City had no budgeted funds for development of the dog park, so a fund raising project by MHDOG went into high gear.

By working cooperatively with the City, MHDOG was able to bring about this unique public-private funding package which untimately got the dog park built. Our grass roots organization raised funds through various fund raising events as well as generous donations from the community. This support from local citizens became tangible evidence of community interest in and desire for a dog park. As our fund raising drive became very successful, we petitioned to the City to match our funds so that all the amenities desired for the park could be completed in a reasonable time frame. The approval of that petition was the final link to starting construction of the park-- which was just eighteen months from the start of our fund raising campaign! With ground breaking for the dog park in the summer of 2006 four years of dreaming, working, talking to people, and planning finally came to a reality. The Grand Opening of Morgan Hill Dog Park on Jan. 20, 2007 was indeed a happy day for the dog owners of Morgan Hill and especially for the diligent cadre’ of volunteers in Morgan Hill Dog Owners Group.
