For over fifty years, the Humane Society of the Ozarks has been serving the people and animals of Northwest Arkansas. We work cooperatively with the Springdale and Fayetteville Shelters, as well as local no-kill shelters, to promote pet adoption.
- Our Outreach Program provides financial assistance to individuals who would otherwise be unable to provide veterinary care for their pets in emergency situations.
- Our Education Program has reached thousands of children throughout the area, demonstrating everything from proper pet care to how to approach a strange animal.
- Over the years, our volunteer team has investigated over 1000 cruelty complaints and continues to work closely with local law enforcement and government officials.
The HSO has also developed some of the most progressive spay/neuter programs in the country, including SNAP (Spay/Neuter Assistance Program), developed to encourage low-income individuals to have their pets spayed and neutered at minimal cost. This program alone will cost the HSO around $30,000 per year to operate.
Supported by memberships, donations, and grants the Humane Society of the Ozarks is working hard daily to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love and care for them.
