Thank you for your interest in the Humane Society of Union County. We appreciate your time and consideration of our program.

The purpose of this society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education.

It is our policy to provide humane care and treatment for animals needing protection in Union County; to seek to return lost animals to their owners and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners.

The Humane Society does not operate out of a shelter facility at this time. All of our animals available for adoption are cared for in foster homes.

There is a difference between the Humane Society of Union County Inc. and the Union County Animal Control.

We are nonprofit, charitable organization and receive NO tax money. We are entirely dependent upon private donations from concerned citizens and volunteer support.

Animal Control is part of Union County government, specifically the Health Department, and IS supported with your taxes. Animal Control deals with stray animals and nuisance animals and is responsible for enforcement of rabies regulations and the licensing of animals.
