The Humane Society of Middletown serves Middletown and surrounding communities. It was started in 1959 when a handful of people with big hearts and small purses formed an animal shelter on the north side of Middletown , in 1963 it moved to the south side of Middletown . We are a privately run shelter guided by a board of directors and do not receive funding from any other humane society or government agency. We receive strays and animals turned in by their owners. We give the animals as much time as we can to be adopted into a good and permanent home and try to make their stay at the shelter as pleasant and comfortable as we can .
