Contented Critters Animal Sanctuary is licensed by the State of Minnesota.
Located in Makinen, Minnesota, it is a haven for the abandoned, neglected,
abused and unwanted animals of St. Louis County. This is a non-profit,
no-kill animal sanctuary fully funded by donations. Contented Critters is run by an all-volunteer staff whose sole purpose is to protect and care for these
animals until suitable homes can be found for them. We work hand-in-hand with other like-minded organizations to help in the placement of abandoned animals. When feasible, we notify particular breed rescue organizations and solicit their help in placing animals who qualify.
