The New Britain Pound is funded through the City of New Britain. Services provided include information on adoptions and lost and found pets, investigations of complaints on wildlife and domestic animals, education to residents on laws pertaining to animals, pick-up of deceased animals, and a number of other services. Hours The regular hours of service are Monday through Friday from 700 AM to 300 PM. Saturday from 800 AM to 1200 PM. Adoption hours when someone will be at the shelter are Saturdays from 10-12. Fees $50 includes state funded shots and fixing. We encourage all adopters to spay or neuter their new family member if it hasn't already been done prior to adoption. Please remember that you should make a lifetime commitment to your pet. If your living conditions are not stable, please think twice before adopting a pet so that you may not be forced to give your pet away down the road. Always remember that pets need food, water and shelter available to them.
