Charming Pet Rescue

IMG_5807 Charming Pet Rescue I grew up with a mother that was always rescuing kittens, and randomly a dog but mostly and lots of kittens! She bottle fed them and found them homes, she fed all of the strays in our back yard, and it was normal to me! As I became old enough to have my own home, I too took in kittens and stray cats, bottle feeding the ones who needed it and spaying/neutering them and finding them homes. Then one day my husband and I decided it was time to get our young kids a dog, as the â??chaseâ? game they were trying to play with the cats wasnâ??t really going well. I set out to find a (singular) dog but what I found was LOADS of dogs. I thought it would be hard to find a dog to meet our requirements, good with kids, cats and other dogs, housebroken, crate trained, but no, there were so many perfect, homeless dogs. We adopted 4 dogs in the following 5 months and I finally started fostering dogs for established rescues so that I could keep saving them without owning them. Along with fostering, I brought in a stray here and there, or Iâ??d take in a dog for a family that could no longer keep them and I found so much joy taking these sweet souls in and then finding them their forever home, that I decided to start my own rescue. Charming Pet Rescue is named from our first rescue dog who was named Charming. He had health issues we knew about when we adopted him, and he is now over the Rainbow Bridge but his legacy will live on as we help other wonderful pets in need find their forever homes! All of our dogs are INDOOR dogs and they have no idea that they are foster dogs, they all feel right at home here. I am able, thanks to my wonderful and supportive husband, to be a stay at home mom with our 2 beautiful, young children so the dogs first and foremost MUST be good with kids. I take great pride in the fact that our dogs are good, family dogs. Since they live indoors with us, they are either housebroken or in the process of being housebroken. We have indoor kennels set up, where the dogs stay when Iâ??m not home and at night, so our dogs are crate trained. We have several indoor/ outdoor cats so I can say for sure if a dog is okay, good or great with cats. We have guests, and play dates, so I can tell you how each dog reacts to many different situations. I always reveal both good and â??needs workâ? traits of the dogs to potential adopters. My goal is to find a perfect fit for the dogs with a family, so honesty is always my policy. Our dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested before adoption and the fee is $150. An adoption application and contract is required for all adoptions and Charming Pet Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption for whatever reason they see fit. The trial period, for a full refund of your adoption fee is one week from the date of adoption. I will ALWAYS take my pets back but past the first week, the adoption fee will be considered a donation and is nonrefundable.
