All persons interested in adopting an animal must come to the shelter to meet the animal and fill out an adoption application. Out of area adoptions require spay/neuter before animal leaves the Augusta County area. (Any animal going to a home not in Augusta County or a county that borders Augusta County, must be spayed or neutered at one of our local vet offices prior to new owner getting ownership of the animal.)
The adoption fees are as follows: $50.00 for dogs and cats. If an animal is not already spayed or neutered $25.00 will be credited toward the spay/neuter surgery cost which is the responsibility of the adopter.
