If I am bitten how should I care for a dog bite?
* Always wash the dog bite with soap and warm water, try to get any dirt, saliva, or any other particles washed out of your wound.
* Apply pressure with a clean cloth or towel to the dog bite to stop any bleeding, if the bleeding does not stop within 15 minutes you should proceed to a doctors office or emergency room.

Pets in Ohio : Dog : Collie : Charity NEEDS FOSTER
Charity NEEDS FOSTER
Charity has a very heartworming story. She ended up in a shelter in Indiana with 4 puppies after giving birth to them under the porch of a home. A wonderful woman from New York asked us to take Charity and her babies into our rescue, and arranged for her and her babies to come to Columbus, Ohio to our group. Charity's puppies were all adopted quickly, leaving only Charity to find her forever home. Charity was in foster care for a short time while we worked to determine the extent of what appeared to be an old leg injury. Fortunately, a specialist that the OSU Veterinary Hospital checked it out and felt that her leg was mostly healed and would not require any type of surgery or further intervention.
Charity is in boarding now and needs a very experienced foster home to work with her fear aggression toward other dogs as well as her separation anxiety. She loves people and with the right therapeutic work, will make a wonderful dog for someone. WE REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH AN EXPERIENCED FOSTER HOME. PLEASE APPLY ON OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.STOPTHESUFFERING.ORG
We would like to start working on these issues and will cover the expenses, counseling, medication, etc. to do so. We need a foster home desperately who can work with Charity.
When she was in her prior foster home, her foster mom said that she is pretty good with cats she wants to play but will not hurt them. SHE DOES NOT DO WELL WITH OTHER DOGS AND SHOULD NOT BE PLACED WITH THEM. She bonds very quickly with her human bein, but as a result, has some symptoms of mild separation anxiety. Charity cannot be crated so any fosteradoptive family must be patient with her and continue working on being left alone. Foster mom says this is a very loyal, bright girl who bonds easily with people and loves to please. She does know some basic commands, such as sit, lie down, and high five, and should be a quick learner.
Charity's adoption fee is $175, which includes all vetting spayneuter, all vaccinations including rabies, heartworm test started on prevention, started on fleatick prevention and a leash collar. If you are interested, please visit our website, www.stopthesuffering.org, to complete the adoption application.
