The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Pets in Michigan : Dog : German Shepherd : Tag

Tag

Tag is a lovable, gorgeous boy who is approximately 2 years old and current on vaccinations. He is a housetrained, neutered male Shepherd mix who loves to play! He craves attention and affection and simply loves to be with people. Tag is an energetic guy who would probably benefit from a fenced yard to run in. Because he tends to get scared and defensive sometimes, he would probably thrive best in a home with older kids or no kids at all, and where he is the only four legged friend.

We’re not entirely sure what breed mix Tag is, but he has the characteristic markings of a shepherd and adorable ears that perk up when he hears your voice. Tag’s tail curls around his back and he is so photogenic that we took too many pictures of him! Click HERE to see more pictures of this handsome boy.

Tag loves to play with toys and is learning to chase a ball and "drop it" upon return. He’s a smart boy and his training is coming along very well. Tag adores his tennis ball. When we bring it out, he gets VERY excited. Tag is such a sweetheart who only wants love and has a strong desire to please.

If you’re looking for a large, playful dog who loves to love and wants to learn, then meet Tag! He’ll be a loyal, devoted and loving friend for life! Tag must live indoors with his new family.

Visit www.almosthomeanimalrescue.org to complete an Adoption Application. Click "Apply Online" from the "Adopt" drop-down menu. It's the first step toward finding your new best friend!

The shelter is open for adoptions every Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and every Saturday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at 25503 Clara Lane in Southfield, off Franklin Rd. by the I-696 overpass, near Telegraph and 11 Mile.

We also have an adoption event every other Saturday at Premier Pet Supply, 31215 Southfield Road, Beverly Hills, on Feb. 3 & 17, March 3, 17 & 31, April 14 & 28, etc. Dog and cat adoptions are from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

If you can't be the one to adopt this pet, would you consider helping us find a family who can? There are so many ways that you can help the homeless and abandoned animals at Almost Home. Make a donation or sponsor a pet. Every penny goes directly to the animals. Consider being a foster parent – it’s not only an extremely rewarding experience, but you’ll help us save more animals by freeing up kennel space at the shelter. Volunteer with us – there are many volunteer positions available, including walking and loving the dogs, feeding and loving the cats, fundraising and assisting at adoption events.
