Dog Bites Dog Bites
If I am bitten how should I care for a dog bite?
* Always wash the dog bite with soap and warm water, try to get any dirt, saliva, or any other particles washed out of your wound.
* Apply pressure with a clean cloth or towel to the dog bite to stop any bleeding, if the bleeding does not stop within 15 minutes you should proceed to a doctors office or emergency room.

Pets in Maine : Dog : Chihuahua : Scoobie
Scoobie
I adopted Scoobie when he was 2 years old. It seemed he was overly aggresive as if he had been abused. He's a little over 7 years old now. Still a little aggressive if he feels threatened, but very loving when he wants to be. He is a chihuahua-terrier mix. He's lived happily with a Corgi and two cats. He doesn't do well with children or dogs larger than him though. He tends to want to be the alpha dog and forgets he's just little. He's very loyal and just wants attention and love. Almost two years ago, he was diagnosed with Diabetes. It was fortunatly early enough before any nerve damage, blindness, etc. He requires prescprition food and insulin shots vetsulin twice a day. The cost for his foodneedles and vetsulin is about $90 a month. He needs more attention than I am able to give at this point. He needs someone home with him more, that can take him for walks and just be more consistent with his medsfood. He could remain a very healthy dog for many years with proper treatment and I'm afraid I cannot provide that to him. He deserves more. I will only consider a person that is settled and committed to providing care for him long term. His ideal home would be with a single, older individual that doesn't have children or interaction with alot of people.
