If I am bitten how should I care for a dog bite?
* Always wash the dog bite with soap and warm water, try to get any dirt, saliva, or any other particles washed out of your wound.
* Apply pressure with a clean cloth or towel to the dog bite to stop any bleeding, if the bleeding does not stop within 15 minutes you should proceed to a doctors office or emergency room.

Pets in Kentucky : Dog : American Pitbull : Gwen
Gwen
Gwen is a 1 1/2 year old super sweetheart with a very sad story. When we first met her she was at a kill shelter very thin and hairless from mange. She was so depressed, she wouldn't even hold her head up, but when we opened her cage door and put a leash on her, her tail started to wag. It hasn't stopped wagging since! Gwen has now put on weight and has recovered from the mange. She is a very beautiful girl now both inside and out. Gwen is now ready to find her forever home. Gwen is very friendly with people, but is occasionally shy with people she doesn't know. She has never shown any signs of aggression towards people. Gwen can be aggressive with other dogs, but only when food or treats are involved, otherwise she is fine around other dogs. Due to this though we reccommend she goes to a home with no other dogs or cats. Gwen is full of energy and does not understand how big she is so a home with children over 12 is also required. Gwen is crate trained to make housetraining easier. She acts like she has lived in a home before because she goes straight to the door wanting in even though right now she is living outside. She loves to ride in the car. So far we haven't been able to find any toys she likes, but we are still searching. She mostly just wants to be with people and be loved on. Gwen weighs about 40 lbs and is current on all vaccinations and has been spayed. She is also heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea preventative. Gwen needs a loving indoor home with an experienced owner. Her adoption fee is $100. Visit www.dreamlandrescue.org for more information.
