The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. Miniature Dogs The Living Toys in Your Family

Miniature dogs are also known as toy dogs because of their dimensions. They are easy to take care of because of their petite features. The great think about them is that they also require little space. These dogs can easily adapt to owners who live in small apartments as they do not require too much exercise.

Some of the most famous miniature dog breeds are:

Miniature Schnauzer
Originating in Germany, this dog breed is fearless, affectionate and loving with its family. They are very loyal and they make good apartment dogs. They can be recognized by their oval, dark eyes and bushy eyebrows. The characteristic color of their coat is that of salt and pepper with shades of grey.

Among the miniature dogs, the Miniature Schnauzer requires firm and consistent training because of the fact that its temperament is very spirited. If you are planning to adopt this type of dog, you need to be aware that they have to be regularly brushed and bathed. You can brush its coat everyday with wire brush. Do not forget to trim your Miniature Schnauzer every two or three weeks.

This dog breed prefers long walks - they will prevent them from gaining weight and developing diabetes complications.

Shih Tzu
This dog breed can live as much as 16 years, if properly cared. Many people describe these dogs as happy, loving, always alert but also stubborn and bossy. Therefore, you need to establish boundaries from the beginning, or else they will develop inappropriate behaviors such as snapping and biting.

Just like many other miniature dogs, they make perfect house pets, not only because of their size, but also because they adore human company. An extra bonus of owning a Shih Tzu is the fact that they do not cause allergies. Their hair is long and silky and slightly wavy. One of the most important things that must not be skipped in their daily routine is the daily brushing. If you neglect combing them, their coat will develop tangles which will be painful to remove afterwards.

Brussels Griffon
This is a highly independent dog. Just like the Shih Tzu, these dogs are intelligent, affectionate and outgoing. They are not aggressive and they enjoy playing with their owners. They have a large head with a round forehead. Their muzzle is very short, giving the impression of being pushed back.

The Brussels Griffon of today is a cross between other breeds, such as the Pug, the Affenpinscher and the Spaniel. Its coat can be of two types, either rough or smooth. It needs to be brushed regularly, but the good news is that it sheds little to no hair.

Cute and cuddly, miniature dogs possess remarkable personalities. Even if it has reached maturity, this type of dog still looks like a puppy, which makes it adorable.

Most owners see these dogs as their own children and pamper them with delicious treats and expensive toys. They also buy them various accessories such as t-shirts, jackets, leashes or fancy collar tags. All in all, the size and characteristics of miniature dogs make them the perfect pets for the elders, children and for the whole family.
