I have a 1 yr old american bulldog (pitbull) named Tinkerbell and we recently got a new puppy for our 7 yr old's birthday. I think the puppy is a Ams german shepherd/terrier mix named Lady. She is about 13 weeks old and I had put her in the back yard with our pitbull while I cleaned up her pen area. (our older dog has never acted aggressive towards the new puppy so I thought nothing of it) our pit was in heat and when the puppy tried to eat out of her bowl she attacked her (which is normal for dogs and their territory), but none the less dislocated the puppies jaw. I just spent all the money I had getting the new puppy her shots and groomed that I do not have the $190-$300 down payment they want to fix her jaw. So, here I am trying to get adviceon what to do until friday and I get paid again. SHe is drinking fine, no problem there, she tries to play like usual but whimpers due to the pain, our problem is.. when she tries to eat and opens her mouth her bottom jaw flops to the side and by the time she gets it shut, she hurts too bad to try again. My son last puppy got stolen out of our back yard and the puppy before that died of injuries it had before we found it on the side of the road. I can not bare him to see another one suffer. I have no problem in paying for the attention she needs or surgery if need be, It will jsut have to wait till friday. Any suggstions on how I can help her (pain wise and eating wise) until then? I found a place that would do the surgery for free but I have to give them the dog, forfiet ownership. which I will do if nothing can be done in meantime to hold her over till friday.I also found another place that would help if we put down our pitbull (which is something I will NOT do), it was not her fault and she has never acted aggressive towards my kids, family, other dogs, noone before, nor do i think she will again. you just simply cannot bring a new member home and trust a female that is in heat. if anything it was my fault for not thinking clearly. However, I will fix the problem by building another pen to keep them seperate, but My son loves her (as do I and our other 2 kids), can someone please help us (advice or maybe a vet that will let us pay friday) thank you mom in ft smith arkansas please help our Lady out.

SPAY the pitbull. I hope you had that puppy fixed, it is such a shame that it had to suffer because of the owner's it had. Don't buy another dog if you cannot afford vet care. You should have asked to make payments at the vet, or at least bought pain medication.
