Hello.  I was just looking for some advice.  I am 22 years old and have known I wanted to specialize as a feline vet my whole life, but have never actually gone to school.  (some bad events happened a couple years ago leading me to a "numblike" state and on disability.)

I own many cats  and kittens myself.  I was thinking that if I could volunteer at a local animal shelter it would give me actual experience instead of classroom knowledge.  From there I was hoping I would find a way to start working my way up the ladder at a local vet.  Then possibly take classes to specialize.

Does this sound reasonable?  I dont have money for or the means to go to a college.  I was just wondering if somebody could give me advice, it would really be appriciated.

Thankyou!!!
