Around a week and a half before Christmas, my cat of 19 years had to be put to sleep. I took her up to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, FL because I could not get a hold of my vet. It was so hard for me to do this. I told my husband if we don't go now, I won't do it. It was so hard for me to hand her over to the lady there, especially when I saw the tears coming out of my cats eyes. I was trying to hand her over, but I pulled her away. The lady there said "Do you want to hold her a little longer?" I said no, because I knew the longer I hold and hug her, the harder it will be. On December 22nd, my husband and I went to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue in West Palm Beach, he wanted to get me a kitten for Christmas. Well we sure did look at a lot of kittens and cats. I wanted to adopt them all. But, we went into a second room there, and here were these 2 kittens...one was real spunky and the other was just sitting there staring at me. Reminded me of my first cat. I said to my husband those are the ones I want...we have to take both, because they are brothers! I can't split them up. He said lets keep looking, so we went into another room. I said I still want those two out in the other room. We went back to those two and the girl there let us hold them...well I fell in love. They were so cute...the one was playing with my husbands beard and the one I held was falling asleep in my arms. We told the girl there...these are the one's we want. So she put them back in the cage, and we went over to the desk to fill out the paper work. While my husband was filling them out, she said that we couldn't take them home till Dec 26th...well we were both really upset about that. The reason was because they didn't want people to give them as Christmas gifts and then not keep them. My husband said, well this is my gift to my wife and we have no plans on getting rid of them. But we agreed that I would go up on Dec 26th to get them. I made sure that I got there 15 minutes before the doors opened because I wanted to make sure no one else got them. Greedy, huh? But to my surprise they were open when I got there...I quick ran inside to see if the kittens were still there and they were. I quickly grabbed one of the ladies working there and said, I'm here to pick up my kittens. She couldn't locate the paper work right away. She asked me if my husband spelled his name Stewart, and being so excited, I said yes...needless to say, he spells it Stuart...lol I knew that, but wasn't paying attention...I just wanted to take the kittens home. She finally located us in the computer. Boy was I relieved. We then proceeded to put the two little kittens in a carrier so I could take them home. We went up front, where she told me to have a seat...and she proceeded to bring me two bags of cat litter and two bags of science diet food. I was really surprised at that...I wasn't expecting it. I had already bought them food, litter, toys (you would of thought I was bringing home a baby if you saw our house), bowls, collars, scratching posts, a cat cottage etc. When I got the kittens home, my husband was at work :-(, but they fit right in...you would of thought they lived with us forever. They sniffed all the way around the inside of the house and went to the litter box then they both went to eat. It's really funny, but if one eats the other one does, if one uses the litter box, they both use it. You can definately tell they are brothers. They both slept in the bed with us from that night on. We named them Hokey and Pokey. I would not trade them for anything in this world! I am basically writing all this, because The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue does such an excellent job with the animals they have there. The place is real clean and they take real good care of the ones they have. My husband and I were really amazed! I would recommend anyone go there to adopt an animal. These two kittens were worth waiting till Dec 26th for.

I have a great fundraiser which I think would benefit any of these animals. Please visit http://track.mpm-at-msmarketingsystems.com/t/c/CherylStetson/mpm2/  This is where Hokey and Pokey got so spoiled. They have a Pets Mart here and other pet stores. I even bought there revolution, litter and food at this website and I earned money back on everything I bought. If a place like Peggy Adams Animal Rescue were to join this and get everyone who adopts a pet, imagine the money everyone could make?
