Dog Aggression with Food - 10/18/2007 9:43:36 PM

Can anyone give advise on this subject?  I have an Austrailian Shepard-mix that has become aggressive with food.  She was a stray when I found her about 4 years ago and a little over a year ago she started hovering over food dish whenever my roommate came into the room.  The hovering moved to growling and then to barking and now she is viciously barking like she wants to attack.  I have tried so many things that don't seem to work.  When the growling started I could usually tell her "no" and "hush" and she would stop.  But now, she doesn't listen.  I'm at my wits end.  I'm afraid that she may attack my roommate.  I don't know what else to do.
